Masonry chimney caps are good for keeping out the rain but they need animal guard to keep all the critters outside and the sparks inside. So if your area has a lot of Blue Stone or masonry chimney caps, keep a 5-pack on the truck so you don’t have to make seconds trips to install them.

Animal guards have no lid or top like a chimney cap. They are to keep out animals and act as a spark arrester. They have 4” screen heights so they easily slip under existing masonry chimney caps (Sometimes called Blue Stone caps).
